Politics.....

I just received an email with the subject line 143 days. After reading it, I felt I had to post it.....just read it and please think long and hard about your vote on Nov. 4th.

You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 daysof experience.
You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience. (could you Prof. Aselage)
But, From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That'show many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143days.
We all have to start somewhere. The Senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him.
We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the UnitedStates of America?
Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Very fitting...the time in near and we must elect the most qualified candidate for the job......

Lazy.....

This past weekend was a lazy one for Lea and I. Friday night we made steak and shrimp for dinner and had some wine. Saturday was a day full of football and the Ryder Cup, which was amazing. Sunday included more football and Ryder Cup, as well as our Sunday dinner which was shrimp salad. Very tasty!!!! My fantasy football team finally showed up to play this week so I should win my first of many games.

This week is going to be pretty busy with work and school. I have to start writing a paper for my Leadership class and catch up on my reading. It is the last full week of the month so I have to close pending orders to finish out the 3Q good, and get some help in shipping/billing them.

I am hoping that I will get my motivation back because I have been lacking in that department this past week........we'll see.

P.S. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

UGA vs USC

Lea (my wife) and I ended up going to Columbia for the UGA game early Saturday morning. We met up with some friends that drove over from Georgia to tailgate with us. We left Summerville around 7:30 AM to head up to Columbia. After a couple hours of driving, picking up our tickets, and meeting our friends we found a spot to tailgate. The tailgate spot we picked happened to be next to a DJ and general manager of Tabu, a bar/nightclub, in Columbia. We ended up partying with them all day and night--free of charge. It was one of the most fun days I have ever had.

I have only two complaints....is it me or is Columbia, SC the hottest place on the planet? I swear it felt 10 degrees hotter than it really was. My car thermometer said it was 95 degrees out, but it felt like it was well over 100 degrees. I bring this up because the heat affected our day. As I mentioned earlier we had tickets to the game, but because it was sooo hot out we ended up selling them. So we watched the game at Tabu with about 15 people on 5 huge projection screens.

Secondly, Ohio State absolutely got their butts kicked by USC in the late game on Saturday. Now, I was born in Columbus, OH and was bred to love the Buckeyes, so Saturday was a little bittersweet for me.

Next weekend is going to be a lazy weekend for Lea and I. We have been going and going for the past couple weekends so our plan is to take it easy.

Hurricane.....

Well, my friends, my wife and I all partied on Friday night waiting for TS Hanna to come, but we never really got much of anything. So that was a relief. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous, so instead of my typical Saturday, sitting in front of the TV to watch football, we went to the pool to catch some rays. It was such a nice day out, a little hot, but the breeze cooled it off enough to be bearable. After that, we all loaded up and went to Red's on Shem Creek for some food and drinks. We met a friend from high school who was in town for a wedding. It was nice to see her and catch up. It was supposed to be an early night, but as 3 AM rolled around we realized differently. Sunday was a day full of football to monitor my fantasy team which did not perform up to par. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

We are planning on going to Columbia this weekend for UGA vs USC game, but haven't finalized plans yet.

More to come on that next week....

My First Ever Post

This is my first blog ever!

I had a great long weekend! My wife and I went up to Athens, GA to watch the Bulldogs play Georgia Southern and they won convincingly. They looked pretty sharp. We left Athens on Sunday around 11 AM and got back into Summerville around 3 and just laid around nursing what we'll call, for the rest of the semester, an H.O. It was great to have Monday off, so we decided to have an impromptu oyster roast with some friends in our neighborhood. So it turned out to be a pretty good weekend all around.
