Work is crazy.......its amazing, everything you hear from top level executives is don't micromanage your people. Okay, I am with that; I don't want to be micromanaged, and thankfully I am not. However, when I deal with people at my work, i.e. ask for quotes, leadtimes, etc. I never get an answer back unless I call them or follow up otherwise. Now, this is setting a trend that I don't want to be on...MICROMANAGING. I am able to take a step back and look at the situation and be reasonable, but if someone takes 2 weeks to get back to me I feel that is unacceptable.
Health Insurance....I have a great health insurance policy, but it is so frustrating when you think you are doing everything right, and then you get an explanation of benefits in the mail and you owe this amount because this isn't covered or you have to meet your deductible. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!! My thinking is either I have insurance or not, forget all this other BS...
Ohio State vs Michigan this weekend, should be a blowout, but fun nonetheless.
Only a couple more posts......

Family...
Well, I had a very relaxing, no worries weekend. My folks came in town on Friday afternoon to spend some time with us. We went out to a very nice dinner on Friday night complete with some red wine and seafood. Saturday, Lea and my mom, went shopping all day long while my old man and I watched football and drank beer. Just like the good ol' days! Sunday they got up very early to head back to Atlanta. Lea and I got up early as well, went to church and had Sunday brunch at Carolina Jo's. After that, we headed back to the house to hang up new chandeliers we got. I expected them to be much harder to hang, but they ended up being relatively easy.
This week, Lea starts her new job as an office manager at an eye care center in West Ashley. This weekend should be another easy weekend for us, then we head off to Columbus, OH for the Ohio State vs Michigan game. OH-IO......

Tough Weekend......
Well, Georgia got their a** kicked this weekend by Florida in Jacksonville. I had the pleasure of being in Jacksonville for what I thought would be the beginning of our trip to the national championship game in Miami in January. Well, I couldn't have been more wrong....... They looked horrible, slow, not ready to play....everything that a team who gets beat by 39 points looks like. Now, I have one huge complaint to make and that is with Mark Richt and his genius special teams coach who thought that an onside kick in the FIRST HALF would be a smart move. Now, I don't necessarily have a problem with that call, but I do have a problem with that fact that they made it, but didn't have anyone there to execute they play. The PK kicked the ball right to the UF player, no big bounce, nothing. UNACCEPTABLE!
My parents are coming in town this weekend, so that should be fun.

PARTAY....
This past weekend we went to a Halloween costume party in the neighborhood. Lea and I both dressed up as Bloods. It was pretty fun, there were a lot of very cool costumes. The hosts had a prize for the best costume, and a guy who was dressed up as Lt. Jim Dangle from RENO 911 won. It was amazing, he had super short shorts and a sweet mustache. Very funny! This Thursday I leave for St. Simon's Island, then on to Jacksonville, FL for the UGA vs UF game. I am so excited, but very nervous because this is a must win for both teams if they want a shot at the national title. Stay tuned for next weeks post for a review of the weekend.

Halloween......
Last weekend was great! One of our neighbors was turning 30 so he had his "Dirty 30" party. It was so much fun! He turned his garage into like a bar/club type thing complete with a VIP area. So awesome! The cops almost shut us down, but after some talking they left and we continued our party till all hours of the morning. This weekend Lea and I are going to a Halloween costume party on Saturday. Should be fun....stay tuned.

The next couple of weekends will be very busy....a neighbor's 30th birthday party next weekend, then a Halloween party, then Jacksonville for the UGA vs UF game, then we have company the next weekend. WHEW!!!! It's gonna be busy, but fun.
More to come on all those weekends!

......
I have a couple of things I want to talk about:
1. VP Debate
2. Bailout
3.Upcoming Debate
VP Debate-
I watched the debate on Thursday night and must say I wasn't that impressed by either candidate. It really worries me that people say Palin did good because she didn't say anything stupid or crazy. What about what she did say!?!?!?! A lot of prepared, canned answers. When you are asked a question, you should be required to answer it, not dance around it then focus on your strengths. ANSWER THE QUESTION!!!!! Biden didn't really impress me at all either, if you look at his track record, he has chastised Barack on his past Senate votes. I don't understand how that works, you don't like some one's policies and decision, yet you accept the VP candidacy for the very person you have criticized in the past. How does that work?? Sounds a little self-serving to me.
Bailout-
HOLY MOLY....where to begin. I don't really know how to feel about the bailout package that passed last week. Some say it won't work...some say it has to be done..some say to let the market correct itself. Well, we chose option two, it has to be done. This is the only thing I have to say....it is going to cost everyone man, woman, and child $2300. Now, this $2300 is supposed to pay for bad investments made on the part of Wall Street banks and allow them to begin lending money again. So this leads me to believe, we are paying Wall Street banks $2300, so they can start lending my money back to me with interest. WHATTTTT!!!!!!!!!!
Upcoming Debate-
In my eyes someone has to come out of this debate as the clear favorite. McCain must have a defining moment, sound bite, or video clip in the debate for him to start gaining ground. This economic crisis could not have come at a worse time for the Republicans. As each day passes, McCain's chances are looking slimmer and slimmer.

Politics.....
I just received an email with the subject line 143 days. After reading it, I felt I had to post it.....just read it and please think long and hard about your vote on Nov. 4th.
You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 daysof experience.
You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience. (could you Prof. Aselage)
But, From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That'show many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143days.
We all have to start somewhere. The Senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start.AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him.
We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the UnitedStates of America?
Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!
Very fitting...the time in near and we must elect the most qualified candidate for the job......

Lazy.....
This past weekend was a lazy one for Lea and I. Friday night we made steak and shrimp for dinner and had some wine. Saturday was a day full of football and the Ryder Cup, which was amazing. Sunday included more football and Ryder Cup, as well as our Sunday dinner which was shrimp salad. Very tasty!!!! My fantasy football team finally showed up to play this week so I should win my first of many games.
This week is going to be pretty busy with work and school. I have to start writing a paper for my Leadership class and catch up on my reading. It is the last full week of the month so I have to close pending orders to finish out the 3Q good, and get some help in shipping/billing them.
I am hoping that I will get my motivation back because I have been lacking in that department this past week........we'll see.
P.S. GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!

UGA vs USC
Lea (my wife) and I ended up going to Columbia for the UGA game early Saturday morning. We met up with some friends that drove over from Georgia to tailgate with us. We left Summerville around 7:30 AM to head up to Columbia. After a couple hours of driving, picking up our tickets, and meeting our friends we found a spot to tailgate. The tailgate spot we picked happened to be next to a DJ and general manager of Tabu, a bar/nightclub, in Columbia. We ended up partying with them all day and night--free of charge. It was one of the most fun days I have ever had.
I have only two complaints....is it me or is Columbia, SC the hottest place on the planet? I swear it felt 10 degrees hotter than it really was. My car thermometer said it was 95 degrees out, but it felt like it was well over 100 degrees. I bring this up because the heat affected our day. As I mentioned earlier we had tickets to the game, but because it was sooo hot out we ended up selling them. So we watched the game at Tabu with about 15 people on 5 huge projection screens.
Secondly, Ohio State absolutely got their butts kicked by USC in the late game on Saturday. Now, I was born in Columbus, OH and was bred to love the Buckeyes, so Saturday was a little bittersweet for me.
Next weekend is going to be a lazy weekend for Lea and I. We have been going and going for the past couple weekends so our plan is to take it easy.

Hurricane.....
Well, my friends, my wife and I all partied on Friday night waiting for TS Hanna to come, but we never really got much of anything. So that was a relief. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous, so instead of my typical Saturday, sitting in front of the TV to watch football, we went to the pool to catch some rays. It was such a nice day out, a little hot, but the breeze cooled it off enough to be bearable. After that, we all loaded up and went to Red's on Shem Creek for some food and drinks. We met a friend from high school who was in town for a wedding. It was nice to see her and catch up. It was supposed to be an early night, but as 3 AM rolled around we realized differently. Sunday was a day full of football to monitor my fantasy team which did not perform up to par. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!!
We are planning on going to Columbia this weekend for UGA vs USC game, but haven't finalized plans yet.
More to come on that next week....

My First Ever Post
This is my first blog ever!
I had a great long weekend! My wife and I went up to Athens, GA to watch the Bulldogs play Georgia Southern and they won convincingly. They looked pretty sharp. We left Athens on Sunday around 11 AM and got back into Summerville around 3 and just laid around nursing what we'll call, for the rest of the semester, an H.O. It was great to have Monday off, so we decided to have an impromptu oyster roast with some friends in our neighborhood. So it turned out to be a pretty good weekend all around.
